I am currently building a Tamiya P47D Razorback. I intend to build Robert S. Johnson's "Pernod and Sam". I am also reading his biography to know more about the man.
One paragraph stands out. On New's Year's Day (1943) he flew his aircraft to the maintenance depot for upfit of the new "paddle blade" propeller.
Now, my question is are we talking about the Hamilton Standard propeller or that Bu**-Ugly Curtiss paddle blade? I can seem to find any photos of this propeller upfit.
Thanks!
