Hi everyone, I need advice and opinions.

Color of turret is 71.075 Sand by Model Air Vallejo (acrylic)

The rest of the tank is Tamiya TS-46 Light Sand enamel spraycan.

Which one is the best?

Marc

ps: Forget about the resin parts in front, I forgot to remove them.

The Tamiya light sand on the hull is closest to the FS color used by the US.

The turret color is way too light.

OK, being an enamel, won't that complicate my life when times come for weathering? All the stuff I have says it needs to be applied on acrylics.

That's mainly the advice I need, because I had figured out that the turret sand was too light.

That's why I need help. Please

Unfortunately, I'm not sure I can give you good weathering advice. With my limited paint knowledge, I think, as long as the enamel has dried and cured thoroughly, that an acrylic based item should be able to be used over the top of it.

I imagine someone will come along shortly and clarify if I'm right or wrong.

Check out this thread on ML. Model Air Sand looks pretty darn close to the chip, but as Mr. Mummey points out, there can be variations...

Going there, thank you for the help/link

[EDIT]

So it looks like if I want to make an old sun-burned tank, I'm on the right direction with Vallejo Model Air 71.075

Vallejo Model Air Sand 71.075
September 10 2013, 1:49 PM

Today I bought a bottle of Model Air 71.075 and it is very close to Model Master Sand 1706 and FS33531 chip. In reality painted side by side it is noticeably more tan and less yellow than the Vallejo Desert Tan Base primer.
So it looks like both Vallejo 71.075 and MM 1706 are quite good match for a faded CARC tan on John's chip.
