Hi, all of modellers,
When building some of modern German armored vehicles, I don't know a device, similiar to a shield with four white strips, fixed on rear hull. What's that?

Can I throw it out when assembling?...

Thanks.

Hi,
Almost every German military vehicle is equipped with it. It‘s a so-called „Leitkreuz“ which literally means "guiding cross" and is part of the blackout lighting system that is used under battle or manoeuvre conditions at night.

In the middle of the cross is a lamp, that illuminates the cross. The Leitkreuz is used as a guidance for following vehicles when driving in a convoy.

Hoping that I could throw some light on.

Cheers
Matty

Oh, it's clear explanation. I will pay attention at them (Leopard 2s, Wolf, Unimog...).

Thank you very much. Happy Chrismas.

You're welcome. Just google for "Leitkreuz" und you'll find a lot of picts and articles which take you further.

All the best and Merry Christmas
