Modelers,
I'm new into using pigments / pastels. I know weatheringtechniques with paint, but what weatheringtechniques are there using pigments...do you apply them dry as dust, use a bonding agent or......you name it.
What weathering techniques are there while using pigments ?

I use three methods. Direct application, dry brushing and "pastel wash".
Direct Application - making hard strokes by using the pastel and rubbing it at the model
Dry Brushing - scraping the pastel and forming them into dust. The dust is then applied by a soft brush.
Pastel Wash - scraping the pastel and adding water to it. Apply it using a brush and let it dry. It'll settle at most panel lines.
