Hi,
I run a modeling group for at risk teens, I purchase and donate all the supplies in order to keep the group up and running. Needless to say I am always on the lookout for a great deal, as my pockets aren't very deep, and the leaves have all fallen from the money tree in the backyard...lol. I have attached a description below that gives a better description of what I do.
I am looking for 1/35 general German supplies, fuel barrels, Jerry cans, wooden crates (any size), cardboard boxes, ammunition boxes, ammunition (everything/anything) and wooden boxes. General stowage type gear.
I am not fussy....more or less I am asking if you feel like raiding your stash of this and that. It goes without saying that I will buy these items, donations are great - and I don't say no of course I will pay shipping.
ABOUT THE GROUP:
Hi,
I am reaching out to the modeling community, for advice, support, and recommendations.
I am an avid modeler, I am involved with a local organization that works with at risk teens that come from broken homes, most have been in the revolving door scene of the juvenile criminal system. These kids that come to our groups are trying to get off the revolving door ride.
Our group is a local community effort, comprised of people with different talents and skill sets. We offer our time and associated skills/talents to troubled teens that have an interest. For example, there are guys that have strong backgrounds in automotive and small engine repair. These volunteers will work with teens who have an interest in mechanics, there are all sorts of talented people who offer their time.
I offer my time to teens who have an interest modeling. My group is one of the smallest, made up of three, and sometimes up to five teens. However, my group is one of the most dedicated, I am proud to say that they are evolving into very good modelers. For the most part these kids can't afford to buy much, so I try to keep a stock of kits for them to work with.
I started them off just by building a model, this has inspired them to ask a lot of questions, which leads me to introduce History into the mix. As they read about events of the second world war, and the equipment used, they find pictures and read of accounts and decide to model the event. Then we get more technical, and I get them airbrushing, it blows me a away at how good they get in such a short time with the airbrush.
I am always looking for a good deal on kits, as I support this from my own wallet. If there are any kits, or left over sprues with parts attached that you are able to part with I would greatly appreciate the chance to buy them from you. Donations are great, and greatly appreciated; however, by default I offer to purchase.
As I mentioned above I am on the hunt for 1/35 German supplies/stowage, the types of things to keep the troops on the move.
