Hi all,
I want to try something a bit different to my Humbrol gloss varnish before putting my decals on to my model and was wondering is there an alternative?
What alternative's are there? Can you use substances like floor polish? Or, do you have to use a gloss varnish manufactured for modelling.
Your thoughts and guidance on this matter would be very much appreciated.

Future Floor Wax has long been used by modelers as a gloss coat,I'm not sure what name it is marketed in the UK
I like Testors or Modelmaster's Enamel Gloss and Vallejo makes an Acrylic also

Thanks for your reply. I have no idea what that might be called here in the UK and indeed if we even have an equivalent!
Does anyone know what other mediums can be used?
What about you modellers in Britain! What do you use? Don't be shy to add a reply!
I really would appreciate a little more help on this subject.

Paul- you can get Future Floor Wax (sometimes called 'Klear' or 'Johnson's Klear')- in the UK it is now called 'Pledge Multi-Surface Wax'. It comes in a white bottle with a blue cap and a red and blue label- the mixture is no longer totally clear and smells a bit lemony but it works the same as Klear did- spray it onto the model for a nice, glossy finish.
I also think Vallejo Satin Varnish works quite well but it does not produce as glossy a finish as Klear.
