I just thought I would share some pics of my workspace. Mainly as an example to others... As they said in Jackass, please don't try this at home....Jim

Good thing you don't smoke in there. (I didn't see an ash tray) All those half full jars of thinner, man. I guess you missed the Halloween bench cleaning deal?

Good afternoon colonel,

It's like I'm looking at my own workbench...It lokks like a bomb exploded there, but the funny thing is: I seem to find everything blindfolded, so why bother cleaning up?

Looking good Jimbrae. One thing I would suggest would be to add a wash followed by drybrushing to the debris field on the right of picture 2 to bring out the detail a bit more and maybe move the large white plastic bottle to the left to balance the scene a bit better. Other than that it is coming along nicely. Which manufacturer is this "Modelling Workspace" by and what scale is it?

Hey, where is the half eatten sanwich, chicken bones, watermelon rines , and wild turkey bottle ? Besides that, you look pretty organized! From what I have seen of others pictures, yours is about normal as is mine.

Cheers,
Garry

Actually, I'm thinking of keeping it as it is and entering it in next year's Turner Prize, under the title of 'The Isolation of The Modeller in Modern Post-Industrialist Society' #:-) On the other hand I could just send the elves in to tidy it up (:-) Jim

Note for Americans and others who don't understand the Turner Prize reference. The Turner (which bears no relation to the great painter) is an annual competition which celebrates the 'Vanguard' of modern British art. As it was recently won by an artist displaying her unmade bed, I really think I could just have a chance of winning.....

Not too shabby! Here's half of my work space. I have two drafting tables side by side, then a cheap little desk and shelves. On the other side of my room is the place for all my unbuilt kits. Enjoy.

Well, it is a comfort to see normal wookbenches for a change. I usually clean mine after every model, but, until the build ends, my bench looks just like those above.( I think I have a bit more sanding dust on mine).

I work at our kitchen table as I do not have a dedicated area in the house in which to model. This table has to be cleaned to perfection once I am finished otherwise the wife would have a hit squad out after me!

The photo below shows me during a *clean* modelling session. You will have to ignore the stupid grin on my face but the wife was naked when she took the photo - needless to say she wouldnt let me post any shots of her modelling... :-)

Jim, I think you are a shoe-in for the Turner!! Remember the collage of the Virgin Mary with the elephant dung on it? Or the room with the light going on and off? Now that sir, is ART!!
