It's only four months till the annual AMPS Atlanta show February 14-16, 2014. This years theme will be "People Movers." Any vehicle that was designed to carry troops is eligible. More information can be found on the downloadable show flyer linked below.

Again this year we will hold the show at the Atlanta Marriot Hotel off of Clairmont Rd. For those of you that attended The AMPS International Show in Atlanta this year, you know what a great venue this is for our show.

Vendors are encouraged to contact Gregg (see flyer for info) to get an early start on your plans.

More information on seminars, etc., will follow as they are finalized.

We hope to see our old friends and many new friends at the show.

Hey all,

Just got this update from the Atlanta Figure Club who cosponsors our February Show.

"The AMFS will be sponsoring another educational, hands-on, workshop on Thursday and Friday (February 13th and 14) preceding the 2014 Figure Show. The workshop will be held in the Atlanta Marriott Century Center. (Our Show hotel)

The subject of this years workshop will be "Groundwork Construction" and will be lead by one of the great groundwork guys around, Mr. John Long. The workshop will begin on Thursday morning and will be completed at lunch time on Friday. The group will be limited to 14 students.

All supplies, a base, and lunch on Thursday will be provided by AMFS. All that the student need provide is a 54mm, or 75mm, figure to build his groundwork around. The figure may be painted or unpainted, as some folks like to get the groundwork done before starting the figure.

The cost of the workshop is $125 for the entire session and must be paid in advance to secure your spot in the class. The deadline for signing up is December 31, 2013.To participate, please send check or money order to Dee Moore, 120 Dover Court, Fayetteville, GA 30215. This should be a great show this year.

One update, Mike Roof has agreed to do a seminar on figure painting at our show. Mike is an AMPS Master and winner of best figure at last year's AMPS Nationals.

Almost there! This snow/ice storm came close to makeing a mess of it lol.

The forecast right now is for clearing Friday and in the 50s. There might be some remaining snow etc., but not on the roads. Even those coming in Thursday afternoon should have no trouble with road travel.

AMPS Atlanta 2014 Cancelled.

For the first time in 37 years, with a great deal of disappointment and unhappiness I am announcing the cancellation of the AMFS/AMPS Atlanta Show for 2014. Until now we have successfully dodged weather situations, but the current one, I feel, makes the cancellation necessary. While forecasts for the weekend are marvelous, the day(s) leading up are uncertain and the very last thing we want is personal injury to our friends and/or damage to personal property.

Monies for pre-registrations, vendor fees etc... will be refunded as soon as possible.

We hope that everyone understands the need for this decision and will join us next year for the 2015 event.
