What Does "For Discussion Purposes Only" Mean

In perusing this wonderful site, I often see the term "For Discussion Purposes Only" applied to photos of various and sundry tanks, vehicles, planes, etc.
What exactly does this mean?

My guess is it's about copyright. You can use the picture on this board to discuss "how can I model it" but you can not use it when writting an article for a paper etc. At least not without contacting the owner and getting permission.

Basically it means that your not going to profit from the picture.
