I edited the email address. Don't know where he trolled my email address from.

Just a warning to those who haven't heard of this character and the people he has ripped off.

IP(64.68.224.25) lookup from the header confirms it is from Coslink which serves Northwest Michigan.

I'm in the IT business, ISPs dont care what their customers do as long as their palms are greased and they have plausible deniablity

If you own your own domain, I offer a spam/virus filtering service for email
www.mailfirewall.net

Trust me, users have to share threads like this and keep each others cautious, ISPs couldnt care less. Good thing youre watching out for your fellow modelers!!!

you can mail [email protected] - and you'll get a fancy automated reply back, and that will be the end of it

Regrettably,
matt

fireman,
I work for a telecomms compamy who are also an Isp i used to have access to complaints ect and our Isp was very strict on spamming and other things like that we would suspend accts switch off cable modems ect for periods of time or even terminate acct's for
things like this if they kept on doing it after being warned 3 times even better just spam him back with porn sites ect he'll soon go away best post the warning on other sites too about
him

He hasn't bothered me since I let him know about some of Michigan's anti-fraud laws.

Does anyone ever think that he does this kind of stuff to P us off? Its almost like a little child pressing buttons to tick of momma and pops.

~Chip

But seriously, what a loser. I mean he is a very unwanted man. Either that or he needs some cash now.

I had already changed the system back in the sites early days so that spam-bots would not be able to go through the site to harvest e-mail addresses. That was assuming that someone did not go through the trouble of signing up as a member and then doing it). To extend this protection (for those of you who list your emails on your profile page) I have added a bit of javascript to again attempt to thwart any attempt for an automated script to do this. Of course it certainly doesn't stop some lamo from doing it one page at a time.

Cheers,
Jim

Jim, you´re too kind- I have gotten several threatining letters from this ¤%&%¤#@, and he has threatened to sue me. He is a no hoper! he is banned from every site i have frequented and all the yahoo groups i am a member off!
Most people know about about him, but if hes up to no good again, its good that newer guys know about him.

When I paint with a broad brush I go over the lines of course.
I cant get decent rwhois service from any Major Telco so i can map the IP space leased to a spam farm from them and block their entire net block from doing smtp at my perimeter.

In general, I agree with what I posted, but am so releived to hear that I'm wrong as well.
Just consider me jaded and cynical on the topic.

Apologies if you felt it was a personal attack, it wasnt intended to be.
