what is a good filler putter for planes that goes on smoothly and sands smooth? Used Testors ,but needs numerous applications and doesn't sand smooth

I use either the Tamiya putty in a tube (grey, comes out like a paste). Sands really well and I use it all the time.
I'm also trying out some of the Tamiya Polyester Putty, so hopefully that works out ok...

I use auto body putty. It has minimal shrinking and can be thinned with water. It is also extremely cheap. I paid $5 for a large tube of it.
