My dad and I run a company called Crafty Products specialising in ingenious products for creative people. My grandfather developed a tool called the Gyro-Cut which was initially designed to be a paper cutting tool used predominantly within the crafting industry. The Gyro-Cut is a precision cutting tool which uses a revolving steel blade to follow any shapes you wish to cut out and after highlighting the need for a product like this to be on the market we ran some tests on other materials.

After doing some tests with the product once manufactured we have discovered that the product is great for cutting a variety of materials. Solar film and solar trim cut beautifully with this tool as well as most other cover materials! Our r/c Crescent Bullet is really starting to take shape! All of the coverings have been cut using the Gyro-Cut tool!

Further tests have also shown that it will cut masking material beautifully! The r/c motorbike in the image below has been masked with material cut by the gyro-cut and then painted. As you can see the finish is superb!

The Gyro-Cut is easy to use and you don't run the risk of slicing a finger off as you do with using a scalpel due to the patented design of the blade and you can use a plastic ruler as a guide without risk of damaging the ruler or the blade. In fact, we are currently developing a guide for use with the tool which will allow you to use stencils with the tool without damaging the stencil! Great for roundel making!

We currently have a great deal which incurs all modellers a 10% discount and free shipping! Simply enter discount code RCM&E on checkout to make use of this offer. This offer is valid until the 31st August 2013. As you can see from the images above, this really is a must-have tool for modellers!

Hello Matt,

With this tool you can score the styrene and the tool will cut into the sheet enough for you then to be able to snap the sheet along the cut and still give a neat, clean edge. We have done this several times to use styrene as a guide for cutting
