Hello there,
I remember seeing a fictional Arab - Israeli war (or almost war) film around 1981-82 on the TV in England. As far as I know it was an american production and was probably released in the 70's.
I can't remember much about it except for the following:
1.There is a lost nuclear device in the desert close to
Israel, which desert I do not know.
2.A western agent is at the Wailing Wall at the beginning
of the film. He is there to collect a message about
the device. The same agent is shown again at the end
of the film., again at the Wailing Wall.
3.This might sound macabre but it's in the film: Another
agent or helper of the previously mentioned agent, gets
torn apart by arab horses being led by arabs for helping
the western agent.
4.The device is obviously found and returned to it's owners
otherwise the agent would not not be shown at the end
again.

If anyone has any idea what the film is called please let me know. I've tried the Wikipedia war film list and found nothing. I first thought David Janson played the agent but,
I was wrong, well according to Wiki he didn't.

Paul,
You are right, it was David Jansen as the US "operative/agent". I remember the movie, which has an Israeli jeep mounted patrol patrol that was looking for the missing weapon/assisting Jansen in his quest. Couple of moments that stuck with me over the years were one of the Israeis was sporting a huge afro, which was really a wig and another that was captured and ultimately quartered by the bad guys...
