I just got a flyer from the 1st Cav Div Association, they are releasing a new history of the 1st Cav book in July. The cost is $39.95 + $7 shipping (for first book). The book is a lrge 9" x 12" hardback with about 300 pages, 32 are in full color.
The contents of the book are:

Occupation of Japan (1945-50)
Korean War (1950-51)
Return to Japan (1951-57)
DMZ (1957-65)
Fort Benning Airmobile (1965)
Vietnam War (1965-72)
Tri-Cap to Armor (1971-1990)
Persian Gulf War (1990-91)
Force Restructuring (1991-93)
Desert Peacekeepers (1992-2000)
Bosnia Peacekeepers (1998-99)
Today's Cavarly (1999-2000)
The Next Generation (2000-2020)
Also available in limited reissues are the WW2 reprint, the Korean War reprint and the Vietnam reprint. These run $45.25 each or all 3 for $95.02. Again, shipping is $7 for the first book and $4.25 for each additional one. The WW2 edition was written by Major Bertram C. Wright in 1947. Call 1-800-788-3350 for credit card orders.
Might be helpful for those out there that still think the 1st Cav is an airmobile division.
I've got mine on order! Deadline to reserve a copy is 15 June 2002.

I sure don't...I remember butting heads with First Cavvers during all our ATs...they were our evaluators.
But I sure learned from some good soldiers.
