Does anyone know what happened to the waffle-pattern zimmerit tools that were once made by Atak and Ordinance models? I don't know where to find them... if they're even made anymore.

I tried making my own by using a razor saw, a very thick sheet of styrene and square brass rod, but it comes out [auto-censored]ty every time. Any pointers?

Have you tried using wire mesh or window screen? Window screen may be a little out of scale, but you can get sheets of fine wire mesh.

Airwaves made 2 sets, see them now and again. Try using strip instead of sawing into a sheet. Lay down strip using your saw blade as a spacer to get one set of rows going, then cut the perpendicular grooves with the saw. Use the strip to mark your cut lines. Strip is a lot easier to cut through then sheet.

I picked up a leather die punch few years back at a shop in Austin TX, it works perfect for 35th scale waffle pattern and cleans up very easy.
