Welcome Dan
I am an armour man but an aero builder too. If you go to the Aeroscale site which is part of the network (click browse sites) and ask away there for stuff on wingy things. thats maybe why you never got a response. See once you mentioned TANK you got a reply.
As to your question, when I paint an aircraft I spray a dark grey around all the panel lines and once base colour is on I lighten the mix and spray into the centre of each panel with my airbrush. Once this is dry I coat with Future and once that is dry I coat the whole model with a dark brown mix of oil based paint that is thinned to a milky consistance. I then clean off the excess with kitchen towel with turpentine on it. This leaves the dark colour in the panel lines to give the model depth. Oh don't try this method on raised panel lines ........it doesn't work
again welcome Dan and try some of the campaigns where you will get feedback and tips on your build from other members.
Cheers Pete
