I know most modelers just buy whatever color they need but I like to mix my own colors using the primaries, red, blue, and yellow. I get the exact hue I want and get awesome results
but....
Does anyone know how to mix paints to make a deep, rich brown? I'm looking for a color like the hair of Megan Fox or Selena Gomez, maybe a dark mud or leather? I can make light brown and have tried adding black but that just makes it dirty and greyish.
Any ideas?

Try adding some more blue and red to it.

hey matt,
Never got around to trying your suggestion but I think your on the right track. Next time I need a dark brown, I will mix my light brown with purple and see if that makes it.
I ended up proceeding with my project anyway as the dark brown was merely an undertone. The purple I created instead (looked brown until I sprayed it ) did enough of the trick to work. This is the end result. Tell me what you think
