Heya, has anyone here ever scratchbuild dust-goggles 1/35 (like in OIF) or knows how to?
I've been cutting up quit a lot of evergreen, but I can't figure it out myself...

I might tend to 'carve' the basic master shape out of epoxy and then cast up a zillion of them, although if you're planning on putting them over figure's eyes instead of just strapping on a helmet, that might be a little more of a fit difficulty.

If you can find one form a DML kit, their Desert Storm guys had separate pieces, you cah heat clear acetate, either the stuff Squadron sells or packaging material and press form new, clear ones. You can then tint hem with clear yellow or smoke.

Do you mean the Tamiya epoxy putty?

More like a two-part A+B type epoxy. I don't think that a putty would work... maybe, but I've never tried it, butt it's not really meant for 'carving' IMHO... only for filling.

How many do you need? I think I have some that are clear. I will check my spares box.

If you can grab an original, you can copy that. Beats making a new one. On 1/35 you need a lot of patience and skill to make that. Specially if you want to make it transparent.
You can try making it in Milliput or Magic Sculpt...
then make transparent resin copies ? That's how I would try to do it.
But the clear parts that come with Tamiya's M151A1 sound like the best deal to me !
Who the hell is General Failure, and why was he reading my hard disk ?
Where's my funky Iraqi general rank that was here on my profile a few years ago? Did they strip my rank, after all I've done for this forum ? Robbery!!

Okay now I'm lost.... #:-)
I don't need/want them to be transparent, I'll just paint them black. Maybe in a next life when I'm a pro I'll try 'm transparent...
I've got one original left from Tamiya (not transparent),
send them over to the Netherlands Animal!!!

If you not looking for clear ones, there are lots of kits with them. DML Modern US tank crew, Academy M113 Kits with figures are a couple that come to mind. How many do you need, I may have a few extra that I could send to you.

Well guys, I've got Tamiya modern US infantry set (4 soldiers) and Tamiya US mdrn infantry ODS (6 soldiers) so that leaves me with 10 soldiers, Tamiya Modern assecoires set gives me 4 tankers to put on my Abrams.... In those sets were only two goggles... I've cut on up (detroyed it..

) Ehhh so I'll be needing 4+6+4-1=13 goggles #:-) (and this only the beginning I'm afraid...
I tried carving up with the epoxy, but I reccon that's not an option for me yet...

For the transparent lenses, exposed 35mm film negative makes a nice touch. At least for sunglasses.

make a wire frame from soft wire or solder.
use either epoxie or crystalkleer for the lenses
tint either with food coloring.
