Looking to buy a new compressor but needs to be a very quite model as will be painting indoors and don't want to wake the kids up at night

Most of the small compressors are about 50/40db and not sure how loud that is.
Anyone recommend one?

Have you considered a compressed air tank? That would be virtually silent when you're not actively filling it.

You can also consider a silent compressor with air tank
if you are willing to spend the big bucks.

These run with a slight buzz no louder than your fridge
as they have the same type of motor.
They are worth every dollars and will give you almost
endless years of service.
I have been running mine for 20 years with only a yearly
oil change as maintenance.

I know they do big tank compressors but there too large and have no where to store it.

Hi Karl,
Although that is an excellent type of compressor w/tank
it is not what I meant.
That compressor will still make noise, the only advantage
over the tankless is no noise when the tank is filled but
when the motor kicks in to replenish the air......noise.

What I meant about a noiseless compressor is something
along the lines of the "Silentaire" made by Werther or
the "Millionair by Badger and I believe Iwata makes a
model as well.
