I'm in need of a new printer. I want an all-in-one that will print color. I run Windows 7. Does anyone have a recommendation, as to which printer I should get? Trying to stay well under $75.

All in one as in
Printer
Scanner
Fax
combi? HP has a unit (Deskjet 2510) but the ink costs a lot. Basically 1/2 the printer price.
Brother DCP195C is a bit over your price but ink is a lot cheaper

In that case maybe a printer and a scanner as separate units can do the job as well. I use a Canon scanner and a Samsung printer for that job, the Windows software for the scanner does the rest. Allows for optimized component and easy upgrades.

At the price point you're looking at, they're all basically the same. All will have kinda idiot proof software included, and they're all throw-away appliances. Expected to get a few years out of it, and then just buy another.

Not really.

Anything that offers individual ink cartridges so that you
only replace the ink that gets used up the most.
Machines with tricolor cartridges are a waste.
As for the machine itself, the spectrum is wide.
I personally run an Epson.
Cheers,
Joe

Hi Matt,
I hope you mean a combined printer/scanner/copier, and not a device to make these ghastly fashionable "Onesie" rompersuits!
Ok, joking aside, I agree with Joe on the separate inks. I run an Epson Stylus SX515W via wireless home network (through my Broadband router) and use Windows7. Installing the software can be tricky (despite all the languages in the "manual", there is precious little real info!) but it does the job nicely.
And as Jesse mentioned, these days they are all pretty much throw-away. Aside from feeding it ink and paper, there is nothing repairable inside. I do tend to get a good five years between printers, so I don't mind it too much. (Better value than the average car, with a $20k price tag for at best a ten-year lifespan!)

What's better about that one than any of the other dozen 3 in 1 printer/copier/scanners out there under $75?

It has separate color cartridges. It has a higher dpi. It accepts most cards.

Look at Kodak ESP Office 2170. Ink is cheap for them.

I may buy one, when I have $150 to drop on a new printer.
