One problem Matt is that you are complaining about postage to the USA and so USPS will not apply. To the best of my knowledge I cannot post a package in the UK to the USA using the USPS as the carrier and in my case would be Royal Mail or a carrier.

This was in response to pseudo's remark about UPS shipping costs and insurance. It shows that, with a different carrier, the cost is much less.
