On this 2.5 ton cargo truck. Would the soft top have ever been wrapped around the windshield in a lowered position so it sat on the hood? Sort of like a jeeps windshield. #:-)

John the screen sat onto rubber pads on the bonnet. Tamiya depicts a rolled tarp sitting along the top edge of the screen in their GMC accessory kit, but you are also correct in the fact that it could have been wrapped around the screen as well.

Go to my gallery and look at the fuel tanker GMC. that has a tarp around the windscreen held there with straps.

hope this helps

Cliff, Thankyou ..just what I wanted to see. Are the straps made from foil or paper? Looks like its done like a package and then strapped.

Howdy fellas,

Didn't mean to eavesdrop on your thread ( I saw the word 'Truck' ) but, regarding the 'strap' thing...I tend to never throw out any of my used PE trees, hence I've got more then a few of them. I discovered that using the outer portion of the PE sprue tree provides some pretty nice strap fodder.....just an idea I thought I'd spit out....O.K., "go back to what you were doin' everybody, nothing to see here, move along!"

Tread.
