I'm returning to the hobby & I purchased for project 1, an IDF Centurion, some accurate armor resin tracks. I found them difficult to use, and broke several of the shorter lengths in the process. I eventually used Fruil, not without problems themselves, but there were other options for the Centurion.

I have purchased another kit, the Italeri M107, & have purchased some resin link & length from a different manufacturer. Other than these purchased, there does not appear to be any other aftermarket track options out there.

Any advice & tips for managing these without destroying them in the process this time? Would a little bit of heat help &reduce the fragility of the resin? Hot water or hairdryer?

Thanks in advice.

Yes. You will want to heat the tracks. I use a hair dryer. I haven't had much luck with hot water.

I have a heat gun for softening floor squares in order to cut them to size. Any idea if this would be too much vs. a hair dryer for working with or shaping resin track sections?
