There are about 8 weeks before the largest and greatest armor model show around, complete with vendors, armor models, seminars and even a tour of the real things up close and personal.

The AMPS International Show crew is proud to announce that a 1 day tour of Fort Benning has been assembled for Thursday, April 28, 2013. This tour will consist of the Ft. Benning Infantry Museum and the Armor and Cavalry Museum Motor Pool . However, in order to get in on this tour, you will need to pre-register which is quite easy via the AMPS Homepage. Simply visit the AMPS homepage at amps-armor.org and select the hyperlink marked “Atlanta Marriott Century Center, Atlanta, Georgia” under the “International Show” section in the upper left corner. Follow the link at the bottom of the page where you can pre-register for the tour. There is also a link that highlights some of the items you will see. If you are going to the show, this is one tour you don’t want to miss. Transportation, schedule and fee details can be found on the AMPS homepage.

Also, the show crew is putting the finishing touches on a ‘’can’t be missed’ line-up of fantastic seminar speakers that are sure to please and…who knows…maybe even pass along some good modeling tips to improve your next build. AMPS 2013 has commitments from speakers like Adam Wilder, Rick Lawler, Mike Rinaldi and Iain Hamilton, just to name a few. We’ll be posting more info when the seminar schedule is finalized.

Remember, the best way to reserve your place in what is building up to be one of the best AMPS International show to date, is to reserve your room at the special AMPS show discount rate of 89.00 a night when using the AMPS group code. This special room pricing ends on April 4th. Go to the AMPS Homepage (upper left) and reserve that room and while you’re at it, pre-register for the show.

If you are planning on attending the show, consider volunteering to help judge model entries. Never judged before and are a bit apprehensive about it? Well, AMPS will be putting on several AMPS judging classes that will not only prepare you to help in the judging process, but it can help you improve your own entries.

Hope you all have a safe and enjoyable trip to the show!

This should be a really good trip. There's definitely some stuff at Benning that you just don't see on this side of the Atlantic. British Comet, S-tank, etc. Plus some of the prototype Heavy American tanks from WWII era. LVT-A1, etc.

Plus, the weather is typically great.... upper 70s during the day. And sunlight is something a lot of modelers could probably use more of.
