I am happy to announce that I have a lot of new parts for sale on the Shapeways web site:
http://www.shapeways.com/shops/mmcdesign?sort=newest&l=36

The new idlers for DML and TASCA kits are available. These have the outer rim undercut to represent the original parts. They also have casting marks on the bearing cap.

Also available are burned versions of the welded and stamped bogie wheels.

I have also modeled the late type grouser assembly used with T51 rubber block track. This comes in a set of 30.

There is also a set of 50 periscope guards available.

Very well drawn! How will it look when you print it? I don't expect the lettering to be printable, though it might show somewhat.

I'm working on parts for the Sd.Kfz.6 that I'm going to upload to Shapeways. I drew the Zgw.50/320/200 track link and left out the raised lettering from the foundry because it's too small to be printable even with Frosted Ultra Detail. (And darn it! I had a great reference from http://muzeumbronipancernej.pl/!)

The text will be there, and it might even be readable, but you'll need an eye loop to do it. I printed some about the same size on a 57mm gun tire and this is how it looked. It says LT 7.50X16. It's mainly there to give the part some surface detail.

I was going to try the lettering on the side of the Sherman bogie, but that was ridiculous. I would have to way over scale it to make it visible. It would be like putting the CONTINENTAL logo on a PzKpfw IV tire.

Beautiful stuff! How hard is it to get the periscope guards off the carrier in one piece? They could be very useful...

Wow, those 57mm gun wheels are fantastic!

Is that Frosted Ultra Detail? I'd guess the lettering in the word Firestone is about 1/32" high. And legible, and you can see it's the right font! And the data lettering is half that size--not quite legible, but looks good.

With real careful work you could sand out the scan lines without damaging the lettering--worthwhile for the master for a mold.

Thanks. The 57mm wheels were what started me doing this. I would like to reduce the amount of material in them to make them a little cheaper. When I do, they'll go up for sale too. I would cast them, but I am not set up to go into resin production.

Mike, is there any advantage to rotating the model 90 degrees along the X plane? It looks like it's doing progressive layers from where the tire hits to pavement up towards the fender. If you could do it so it layered from the 'back' of the tire to the front, would that help? Or do you even have any control of how they rotate it for manufacture?

I don't suppose you could give us a life-size preview as well? (ie, not blown up.) This technology is very interesting to me.
