This is a call to all Armorama members that model Vietnam-era. Based on my own experience and after reading some of the topics in the forums, it appears that there is a serious lack of VARIETY to choose from not only in models but in figures as well. I am asking all members of Armorama who model this era to write letters to the primary figure makers (Dragon, Tamiya, etc.) and tell them that we want more to choose from--not just special ops and Marines (not to dis any of them) but some grunts! Those of us who enjoy making dios would also really benefit from kits that have more than four figures. I would even be willing to pay a little more for variety and more figures per box. They also neet to represent with more airplane, helicopter, armor and riverine models.
I''ve got to get my butt to work right now, but this evening I will post adresses of some of the "biggie" kit makers (feel free to post any you think I missed) and let's get rolling with a letter campaign.
Remeber out vets & those now serving today!

Dragon did do a series a while back. I picked up several sets. Maybe you can get them to reissue their 1st Cav, Khe Sanh and Tet sets

Post the addresses I'll join. Maybe we could include more WWII allied figs as well.

As promised, here's a list of some of the kit makers that I'm familiar with--if you know others, please add to the list. In my letters I am basically asking them to consider making more Vietnam-era helicopters, armor, boats and figures (all preferably in 1:35 scale to be compatible with the existing stuff). To DML in particular I am asking them to make more generic figures rather than all special ops--and to consider making kits consisting or more than four figures. And while I'm at it, I am also asking for more allied figures in general. We are inundated with Germans already (hey, I'm 3/4 German, so I'm not neccessarily predjudiced).
So there it is. Join me in the campaign if you want to--hopefully some of you will. I have learned that letter writing campaigns can be incredibly effective in politics--so why not give it a go here?!
