Every once in a while I see users asking for help and I find myself ‘keeping’ an eye on the thread to see if any useful (to me) info comes out. Like many others I still suffer from the ‘stupid question’ phobia ; that is too scared to ask for help in case it sounds too stupid to others. I have a few books on models and modelling and still washes and weathering are a problem to me.

I found these sites for others with my ‘Phobia’, hopefully this will help them as well!

Theres no such thing as a stupid question Savage. Stupid answers yes, stupid questions no.

We all have to learn, and after fifty odd years - some of them very odd - of modelling I am still discovering things that are glaringly obvious to others.

We all make (well most of us) the mistake of assuming that when we know something everyone else knows the same thing, but conversely when we dont know something we think we must be the only one who doesnt know. Thats almost Irish.

Ask away - there will always be someone else - (possibly me) - who wants to know the answer to the exact same question.

Regards Dave

Thanks, these links are usefull not only for beginers. Itīs not bad to refresh concepts and look into other points of view on modelling techniques.

I have that phobia, too... But we all started knowing nothing, so it i not a bad thing to ask...^_^ There may be other people who get irritated at people who ask such questions, but there are more people who are more than willing to help out! We are a community here....And we have those ranks (above your name in your postings...) so I presume we are all soldiers...And like soldiers, we look out for one another...

I also find dealing with washes and oil paints dfifficult, but skill improves with time and constant practice...^_^

Hope this made you feel better....Good Luck with your works!

Hi All
I don't know if you would call me a beginer, I have been back to modeling for some time now. But no one knows everything! Thats why I joined Armorama, to ask stupid / dumb questions.
And boy do I have plenty of them!
Happy Modeling
