I have never worked with it. Any tips on priming/painting/etc.?

You may use any primer, or even leave it unpainted if you want the metal to look metallic. Epoxy or superglue are your weapons of choice for getting it to stay where you want it stuck. The gluing surfaces will benefit from being a little rough to give the glue some "tooth" to grab onto.

Enamels or acrylics work as top coat.
