Just got this yesterday, Trumpeter North American releases for January 2013.

Something for everyone on this set of releases!

1591 1/35 Russian BTR70 Armored Personnel Carrier Late Version (New variant)

This model, made from 1986, adds improvements to the early variant; mainly firing ports to the outer sides of the hull roof, bumpers, headlight guards, and a periscope on the BPU-1 turret's side. The kit has over 470 parts on 20 sprues, lower hull, upper hull, and eight hollow rubber tires. A photo-etched fret is included for the grills, stowage clips, and headlight guards.

1661 1/72 Sukhoi Su27 Early Type Russian Fighter (New Variant)

2293 1/32 Messerschmitt BF109F4/Trop German Fighter (New Variant)

The F series was the second major redesign for the Bf-109 during 1939-40: complete redesign of the wings, the cooling system, fuselage aerodynamics, and engine. It includes the 20mm Mauser machine Gun 151/20. Kit consists of over 240 parts on 11 sprues plus photo-etched parts, and includes a detailed cockpit and engines, positionable wing flaps and rubber tires.

2339 1/35 Soviet 85mm D44 Divisional Gun (New Variant w/New Tooling)

The D-44 was a Soviet field artillery gun used after World War II. Some 200 of the Chinese Type 56 variant are still in service with the Pakistan Army. Wartime service included use by communist forces during the Vietnam War and by Arab forces during their conflicts with Israel. The kit consists of over 140 parts on 5 sprues with a fret of photo-etched parts and two rubber tires.

2875 1/48 Vampire FB Mk 9 British Fighter (New Tool)

The de Havilland Vampire was a British jet-engine fighter commissioned by the Royal Air Force during the Second World War. Kit consists of over 50 parts on 4 sprues.

Launched in Sept 1937, Eskimo participated in the Second Battle of Narvik in April 1940, supported the Allied landings in North Africa in November 1942, and served with the 10th Destroyer Flotilla at Plymouth then continuing to operate to the end of the war. Kit includes 7 sprues, hull, and one fret of photo-etched parts for a total of 250+ parts. The completed length is almost 13”. A display stand is included.

5788 1/700 German Zerstorer Z30 Destroyer 1942 (New Variant)

No mention of any 1/16th items? The SU-100 was announced back in 2010 or 11 something.

@ Karl, yeah, the artwork leaves a bit to be desired, those that are "Box Art Whores" and buy the kit because of the box art won't be impressed with that one...LOL At least there is box art for it, and not just a line drawing like some of the rest of them.

Not really sure what differences there are between the Late BTR 70 and the early BTR 70 that just came out. Full interior on each which is always a nice bonus.

@ Jeff, yeah I know, was awhile back that they announced that...but nothing between now and January at least...that is unless they surprise us with it, but I haven't heard of any progress on the kit.

@ Hisham, I hear you brother.....about time someone did an updated Warrior in 1/35.

In the mean time...check out the other post I just put up on the Hobby Boss January 2013 releases. Merkava ARV!!!! YES!!

Yeah, that Vamp looks interesting. Been thinking about doing either an Alley Cat Vampire or a CMR version. Of course, theirs' are all 1/72. I think I'll hold-off until I see the 1/48 version. Would be super if Trump ever does an 1/32 Vampire. Also, I keep hoping someone, somwhere, will do a new tool on the F-102 or F-106. Hope srings eternal, as they say! All the best.
Happy Gluing, JT
