I would like to know if the Makita 4.2 Gal 'Twin stack' Air Compressor, MAC2400 is a good choice, any advices on a better one in the same price range. I already have a big 3/4 campbell hausfeld compressor but this one is VERY noisy.

I would be a little loud, I have one very similar to this one, and only paid about the same as the Makita one.

Very quiet, regulator works very well, the only thing I added was a moisture trap.

This is the one I have.

Any of the commercial oil-less compressors are loud. I'd get a small diaphragm type model.
