My mini files get lots of use. Between plastic and putty they can get clogged up.pretty quickly.
I just want to get some ideas of the best way to clean them.
Thanks

I usually get some sticky tape and push that on the surface of the files and then rip it off again. This takes along with it a lot of the dust. Repeat several times.
I also clean them a lot with an old toothbrush.

I usually put them in lacquer thinner after use. Be careful if they have plastic handles because, as you know, lacquer thinner damages plastic.
Another tip which I adopt , is passing a dry compact sponge over the needle files. Sponge pores can collect the dust and files will be perfect again
I hope that can help you
Cheers

I use a toothbrush as well, and if something is really stuck, a brass brush.

what are some of the better sets of files I can get?

One thing I do to save a little money, it I buy emery boards from the dollar store, real cheap. I do most of my rough sanding with them, then move to the the more expensive sanding stick or files. I find this way, the sticks last longer, and files don't get clogged up as much.
