I have been to Dachau just north of Munich . It was a baby compared to Auschwitz, but you still get a strong sense of horror when you see it. The Germans have claened it up real nice, all the barracks are down and the spots marked by rock gardens. They still had the ovens intact and I think the gas chambers. I was disapointed not to see any pictures of them in your slideshow. Are they gone?

We visited Dachau in 1964. The camp had been cleaned up, but the "beautification" process hadn't progressed too far. I've seen pics of what the camp currently looks like and it's a far cry from the rawness of what I remember. I wish I knew what happened to the pictures my dad took of it back then.
