I've recently gotten back into modeling after 20+ years off. I picked up the very cool Tamiya Opel 3 ton truck kit as a nice way to ease back in.
The kit is very nicely done, but I'm curious about how to fix one thing: the ejector pin marks that are on top of the woodgrain bed pieces. How can I remove the marks and replace with *matching* woodgrain? (Well, any knid of woodgrain, really)
Thanks!

You can fill it with putty and then etch in matching scribed lines. Do it slowly and gently and you can get pretty close.
or
Replace the entire piece with a piece of actual bass wood. Bass is better than balsa, it's grain is tighter and it is easier to work with.

Wood grain in 1/35 scale isn't something you should be able to feel physically. I prefer to basically sand it smooth and use color/finish variations to show "grain".

It takes some patience, but you can carve the grain with a razor knife.
