Hi all,

Sorry if this is a stupid question. I am starting Trumpeters' E-100 Jagdpanzer. My question is this, on the picture below, see how the back of this suspension part is 'open/empty'? If I wanted to IMPS or AMPS rules build it OOB, if I was to fill the part with putty or something, would that change the OOB label? I thought so, but figured I would ask. Also, normally, how do you handle situations like this? This part is a 'spring rocker' type of assembly for the suspension of the tank and there are 8 on each side.

Thanks,

John

I don't beleive that filling holes with putty breaks the rule of OOB. Putty is an acceptable item. But again, always check the local rules.

Clip off a little piece of the sprue, glue it in and then sand it down? Hey, it was in the box...

Use gap-filling CA glue.

Use of putty to fill in ANY gaps or seams (even Sherman wheels with no backs!) is always and completely allowed in the IPMS USA OOB rules. AMPS has no OOB category.

Okay, here is what I did. I used a mix of Sprue cut to lengths and then putty for the top hole and to 'clean up' the 'Spring' backs. Also, most of this will be hidden, but at least their will not be giant "holes" visible in the suspension from the bottom of the vehicle now.

Thanks again for the tips/opinions!

Realized that last photo was 'ugly' so wanted to show on the kit. Didn't really need to completely clean up those parts since most of the back would not be seen. Only from the front or back very slightly or the bottom as shown below.

Thanks again for your comments and suggestions.

Those look great John! Once you get the paint, wheels, and tracks on, NOBODY is going to see any problem. Nice work.
