Hi all,

I am working on the Italeri M24. I would like to keep it OOB at least as far as club rules go. I was thinking of cutting a section of the side skirts off and just mounting most of the pieces. Would that still count as OOB, because I am just using kit parts?

Thanks for the help.

Yes, I beleive so, always best to check with the actual club or event. In most cases I have seen it, as long as you don't use anything that was not in the box, excluding glue and paint.

In my opinion, for what it is worth, an OOB build means building a kit with what ever comes in the box, except glue and paint and weathering medium of choice.

Modifying parts from the box still counts as long as no parts from other sources are used.
To me this includes plasticard, foil, wire, figures, PE,etc.
Only what the manufacturer put in the box at the factory.

The number of times i`ve read of builds supposedly OOB except for this or that.
Well to me that is not OOB.

i`m waffling so i`ll shut up now.

Thanks Malcolm,

That's what I was not sure about. The 'cutting' of a box part, in effect making it different than shipped. So figured this was a good place to ask.

Appreciate your thoughts and sentiments.
