Just saw this today and enthusiastically give it "two thumbs way-up".The many $$$$ used on this production were well spent. Beautiful desert scenes from Utah with fantastic ancient cities woven in them with CGI. Fast paced action as was the written original story from Edger Rice Burroughs. Have to say that the probable reason that the film didn't do well on opening weekend in U.S. was sparse promotion in TV and paper media. Acting is good,Creature imaging is great, dialog is well above average.Well done fight scenes. Handsome hero and total-babe heroine who knows how to use weapons. A must-see and lots of room for sequels.

I saw it this past weekend with my wife and two teenage daughters (15 and 18). I liked it. And so did they.

Lots of action, cool 'aliens' some laughs and great looking effects.

I took my 10yo son Josh and 4 of his friends (yep, I'm either brave or mad, or both!) to see this on Sunday (for Josh's birthday) and we all really enjoyed it. I see it as "Prince of Persia meets Star Wars" and as Rick said, plenty of scope for sequels.

Highly recommended.

Cheers, D

Probably wont see any sequels as its getting nailed at the box office and some are seeing it as one of the worst flops ever. Personally I really enjoyed it some deviation from the books but hey it was written in 1911.

Sad and unfortunately true about profit and sequels. A time honored storyline dressed in CGI finest with really good screenwriting. Have no idea where the money went on this film as I just didn't see extraordinary glam on the screen and didn't hear or read of any production problems any where. Where did the $$$$$ go?

These are the first good reviews I've seen on this movie. Every other one panned it!

I saw it a couple weeks ago with 2 modeling friends. One loves everything he sees. He was so-so. The other can be more fan-boy critical, but liked it enough to see twice with different companions. To me, it was okay. It didn't really need the 3D effects. They weren't distracting, (as in Clash of the Titans) but they didn't enhance the story. The froggy-dog was quite annoying. The jumps were IMHO way overdone, more along the lines of Superman flying, even for the weaker Martian,er Barsoum, gravity.
