I'm sure one of you guys can help me with something. I do quite a bit of thinking from time to time about various things.

I was thinking, say a soviet tank with era ties gets, say abandoned. Would it be possible to pry those suckers off and use them on another tank? Even if the new recipient wasn't of soviet origin?

Sometimes it's hard to get modelling off of the mind...

To my knowledge the ERA tiles contain explosives only in combat situations, otherwise they are just decorations.
Theoretically ERA could be attached to any armoured vehicle.

Yes, that's it...but it would be necessary to have all the ERA supports

Ok, thanks. Just as I thought. Been giving this some thought for a set of vehicles for a what if war scenario.

I would very much like to see a build that shows the era tiles removed or only partly there.

Mauro- that tank pic you posted- where is that? Do you know the story behind it? It would be an interesting subject to model given the state of it.

Karl. I've found an incredibly useful and interesting walkaround on Dishmodel site

http://dishmodels.ru/wshow.htm?p=253

As you can notice it is possible to see how the ERA Kontact 3 explosive tiles were attached to the turret and to the hull.

Is a T-72B1 preserved in Volgograd
Pics have been taken and posted by Sergej SHimko aka Desdi

I think that's the T-72 version employed during the chechen wars

Ive been waiting for a while for a new decent T-72B model. If it were realesed, this tank would be probably the first whch I'd try to replicate

Cheers

On a side note, anyone see any decent pictures of a M551 Sheridan and M2A2 Bradely in the "NATO" camo scheme? I think it was 4 colors?

I've only found one of a Sheridan from the right side. Seeing it from other angles would help me establish the scheme. Been playing a lot of World in Conflict, good game. Shame they used T-62's instead of T-72's.
