Hey dudes,

I'm thinking about buy an Ipad or and ebook. And I have a question about this kind of books.

Do you think is good idea work with this kind of material in our work table? Or is much better a classic book?

I'm old school,my prefrence at the work bench would be a real book in hand.

I do like e-books for vacation instead of carrying around regular books though.

I am an old "tableteer" since way back when XP Tablet edition was new. The combination of a decend sized (10'' / 1280x800) tablet and PDF/Kindle etc. is quite useful. The tablet handles like a normal book and at the same time you have your "library at your fingertips".

Many people who say "I prefer a book" have used Notebooks and/or normal monitors with a "landscape" display mode. Those are vastly inferior to a tablet for the purpose of reading conventional books.

Currently I use a Acer Iconia A500 (Android) or, more often, a 12'' EP121 Win7 slate as a reader (I prefer Windows systems due to stylus, active digitizer and the software available). Both work nicely, the Acer is relatively cheap.

My PC is in front of me when i work, so i dont have this problem, but, Tablets are not for everyone. Multiplat is the way to go. or a book.

Basically you got all three opions that exist:

+ Books are better
+ Tablets are better
+ PC and books combined are better
(Maybe a fourth is: Tablet and books combined are better)

IIRC the forum can do polls, maybe one of those with the three options above would give you an idea what the forum members prefer.

==========================

Now if you want "how do you do this in practice" descriptions/pictures that is another thing. Search "man cave" and "work space" for quite a few pictures on typical set ups. Mine is there as well, just add the tablet to one of the IVAR (storage rack) benches lying there like a thin A4 book and you get the idea
