Hanger Queen usually refers to an aircraft that seems to spend more time in the hanger being serviced or repaired rather than flying. On Aeroscale, we done a couple of group builds just cleaning out those old :hanger queens", aircraft kits we're started but never, for whatever reasons, finished.

Dawns on me I've got a couple of ships and AFV's in the same condition. So I've got a couple of questions. What do you call ships and tanks that spend more time in service than in action? And, are there are any group builds going on that I can use as a great excuse to open these boxes up and finish then off?

Hi, for those ships I would guess "Mothball Fleet", I believe those are the ships not in use, but not yet retired.

Armorama has their "Get It Done" campaign for military vehicle kits that have languished in the closet.

Model Shipwrights has their "Dry Docked" campaign for ships.

These are very popular campaigns!
