A Green Hispaniola Parrot from the dominican republic. Meet Kuka. Worlds most ill mannered bird. She speaks a few words. Loves me to bits... Tries to bite everybody who is not me. And she also tries to eat everything I don't keep my eye on and is a general destroyer of all loose laying papers and notes. But I wouldn't trade her for any money in the world.

Hi.

An old photo but I still have Jake. She (it takes a couple of years to find out unless you do blood tests) is a 24 year old Sulphur Crested cockatoo. I've had her for 24 years. She sits quietly while I model but does want some attention every know and again by demanding a scratch.

Thanks Tom

These moments makes you hold your breath Richard

I had a lot of problems with interupted building sessions, as the cat demanded my attention - I solved it by placing a pillow on my desk for him to sleep on, it satisfieds his needs for being social and keeps him of the buildingspace, my lap, the keybord for the computer etc ...

I like the parrots - they can be very social animals too, with a lot of personallity.

I think Atico would like them too ..... but for a quite different reason ...

I should have my new cat, Sunday. I've had good experiences with cats. We seem to have the same outlook on life. "So...?" "It's a good day for a nap." I've actually out-napped one of my cats.

@ Tom
Thanks for the compliments. She is a lovely bird allthough she seems to have an aggressive aversion to the female race. She always tries to attack women. Which was always the source for funny scenes between her and my mother who grew up in a house with 2 red Macaws and who is clearly not afraid of Kuka. And for the age of Parrots and cockatoo's they can get really old You often hear 60 to 80 years if the bird is in good health and is cared for in a normal way.

@ Shane that is a beautifull bird you got there. I always like the look of Cockatoo's and they are quite playfull as well as I always understand.

@ Jan
It is nice to have social cats. We used to have two black ones at my parents house who were really social. Grew up very old as well. 21 and 25 respectively. The cats after that were not nearly as social.
Keeping parrots is super much fun. When i worked from home with my own company I often had her on my shoulder. Which made for some funny conversations on the telephone when she started talking through it.

@ Richard
Holy crap my heart would skip a beat when I found a cat on one of my shelves like that. Nice cat though. I always had a soft spot for Black cats

Just two well mannered male cats, one is too fat to climb, the other doesn't bother, he likes his window sill better

Yes she had a strange attraction to my Leopard 2A6 with slat armour, go figure.

I have this case now for display LOL.

@ Jan I also prefer the cats with some Ragdoll in their blood lines. My girlfriends 7yr old daughter picks her up and pushes her around in a baby stroller all the time with no complaints from kitty (which is the cats name, I like to keep things simple ).

And if you want to trap a cat, only a box is required.

Or a briefcase...

Standing on guard...

cheers

This is Miss Kitty. She's our only pet, but that's her choosing. She absolutely hates all other animals. People on the other hand, she loves. The thing I really love about her is how she is with my grandsons. They are 8 and 5 now, but when they were babies and knew no better, they terrorized her. She never once displayed any aggression towards them. And now, she'll snuggle on their laps while they're watching TV. I never much cared for cats until we rescued her, but she's won me over.

We found this guy abandoned in our yard, about a week old and near death. Had to bottle feed him every few hours but he did survive and is about 6 mos old now. Definitely a people cat, and does most of my editing work for me

Be warned horses are a right pain in the bum but I love mine to bits. Ive had so many injuries from Spirit from both riding and leading him on the ground. Ive been stood on, trampled, dragged through a field, thrown off far too many times, head butted and squashed into a wall. Ive only had him a year as well.

Most serious accident was being thrown off a riding school horse and breaking my leg in 3 places it wasnt pretty, I was on crutches for 6 months with metal work sticking out my leg and than a full leg cast. 2 years on and my leg still plays up something terrible it swells and I can still sturggle walking on it.

He also costs me alot to keep

@ Allen..
Let me guess... also a big fan of American dad and Family Guy?

Love the names..> reminds me of the cats I had to leave with my parents when I moved to another city. I had the fortune to name them ... Meet Puma (brown) and Hetz(er) Grey

When I still lived at my parents home we had much more animals. The parrot was the only pet i can hold where I live now. But we had a very large Koi pond in the garden with around 35 Koi, an Aquarium with small fish and a nightingale who sang beautifull... when you were vacuumcleaning.
