I need help! I have tried 2 sets of Modelkasten tracks recently. The same thing has happened with both of them. I build them as per the instructions...................using Humbrol Poly. I spray them with Tamiya acrylics. They look great so far. They're fully workable...great! Then I give them a wash using Windsor & Newton burnt umber with a little yellow to give that 'rusty' look. That's where the problem is. They fall apart. I was unaware that white spirit 'attacked' joints made with Humbrol liquid poly. The plastic links themselves remain untouched. Has anybody any suggestions?

I think best way is to use some other product to glue your tracks.. I stick with Tamiya "very thin" cement. I also use a lot of white spirit to wheather my models, and until now I have never had problems with welds coming undone....
Hope this helps a bit....

Vinnie,
The problem may be your 'spirit'. I usually use "turpinoid" and do not have that much of a problem (until they twist). But the problem is not with the wash.
