I want to buy a fine nylon brush to apply Tamiya (or Gunze) liquid cement. I have two questions.

1. How do I keep the brush from hardening after each use (or some inactivity)?

2. What should I use to clean the brush before storing it? Maybe, paint thinner?

I didn't clean my brush. I used a natural bristle brush and each time I used it, just dipping it in the cement softened it up and I was able to use it, no problem.

That's a great news to me

I've been away from modeling for 20 years and so much has changed.

What Tamiya cement are you using? The X-Thin Tamiya comes with a pretty fine brush as it is...works great.

The regular Tamiya Cement, yeah it is a little big. I just use the disposable Micro Brushes, but basically the same thing....gets cement on it, it hardens, put it back in the jar and it softens up. Once it gets too crusty, either throw it away, or...pull off the brush portion and you are left with a pretty fine tip plastic...good for applying CA or accelerator.

I use the regular one. I'll check out the extra thin. Anyway, I need to use a super fine brush for tiny pieces. The needle type applicator didn't work for me.
