Hi, I'm rather new to this community and I wanted to upload some pictures of models I made in the past.

Problem is the pictures I'm planning to upload are all larger than the allowed 600Kb.. Is there an easy and cheap way (don't want to buy extra software) to keep the quality of the picture, but get the file size down??

Thanks in advance.....

JohanW

If you have Photoshop at home I have some tips for you.
This is an article written by me about making internet Friendly pictures with Photoshop

And this one written by Jim about image Compression

Give me a PM about getting Photo-edit software and I explain you some things :-)

Here is one product I'm looking at - there is a free version and a $ version. I've evaluated the free one. It seem pretty good. There are a couple of 'buy me' banners in it.

http://www.photo-editor.net/

If that doesn't fit the bill - do a google search on 'photo editing shareware' or 'photo editing freeware' and see what you get.

Hi JohanW:

If you donīt have the Photoshop you can use the Microsoft Photo Editor. This is a tool that is standard in the Windows.
You have to save the image with the "save as" option and with the "more" button you can selct the quality of the image. Use the quality selector in the 7 or 8 level. When you save the image the Edithor will automatically reduce its weight. Try diferent quality levels to set it when you think itīs right.
