I am from Georgia, but due to Reserve Active Duty orders will be residing in Jacksonville for the next year, so I guess I'm kind of from Florida temporarily, LOL

I spend 7+ years at UF and I end up getting back into modeling AFTER I move away.

Chuck: I suppose I can let you off with a warning
Glad to hear from Gainesville. I may have to start doing my hobby shopping over there. We are down to two hobby stores in Jacksonville and neither of them have restocked paint in a year.
Jesse: You mean you haven't been building since birth?

LOL...glad I get by with a warning, LOL Regarding the hobby shops, I know Hobbytown USA went under, but I'm still counting three with the two Hobby Worlds, and the Hobby Oasis...unless one of those has folded in the last month?

Also, is anyone else planning on attending Jax Con at UNF in Jacksonville in February besides me?

Funny, I don't come up with a Hobby Oasis when I check Yellowpages. I'll be at Jaxcon. I'll have either my lFsH 18 or the Pz.IV still in production to enter.

Hobby Oasis is on Beach Blvd down near the Intercoastal in the same plaza as the Hobby Lobby; used to be on Beach at St Johns...not as big a selection as the Hobby Worlds, but not too bad and Dave the owner is a nice guy.

Look forward to seeing your IFsH 18 or Pz IV at JaxCon; I plan on entering my DML M4 "Normandy" Sherman that I have in the "Constructive Comments" forum, plus maybe my "In Progress" DML M1A2 SEP Tusk II Abrams

My mode of transportation is a bicycle, unless I rent a car. Guess I will just have to relegate myself to online shopping.

There are a few of us here in the Tampa area. There are five Mom and pop type hobby shops and two hobby towns. There is a club in Largo called the Pellican club and we have a gathering of about ten of us at Charlie's Hobbies in Tampa.

Glad to see all of you checking in. I do remember seeing Hobby Oasis, some months ago and again recently. Hobby World on Blanding has recently restocked their paints and increased the amount of armor kits they have for sale. Looks like they have the new Tamiya paints on order, as well.

New AMPS Chapter in Northern Florida. Shouldn't be too far from the Gainesville and/or Jacksonville area folks.
