I got as far as introducing a red X box. What is the secret beyond that? Do I have to go to encryption school or something? Man this is one tough business. Congrats to you Jim, on a hard job well done.

James,
What's the question? How to add an image? People say I'm cryptic.

To add an image to a post you need to add this kind of line:

Code:

<img src="http://www.michweb.ch/DC/imagesDC/dc.gif">

which would produce this:

Questions?

Right-clicking your red x properties gave me this URL:

http://www.britishpaintbox.co.uk/image.file

I bet the file name of the pic you tried to display is not "image.file" but instead "badasstank2.jpg" or something like that. You know, replace the image.file with the real name of your file....

Jack, check all the address, and see if there is some missings letters or more letters, or if you put the whole thing bettween " ", it's important, also to check if the code is writen between tags ...

Sorry CaptainJack, still red x!
I had the same problem when I tried to link Lycos and Webshots gallery pics here at Armorama. Funny thing is that they actually worked for a while...So now I will put a link to the actual galleries or send in stuff via Jim...

Jack be censored...maybe not

Can you put a picture into your signature (that always shows at the bottom of your post) using this code?

OK, Jack. I tried to perform the exercise with your same pic, and here's the result...

As you can see, I get the same results as you do. Maybe the source pic is the reason for our failure here ? I'll try it with another pic :

You see ? it works ! I tried the exact same procedure with a pic I stole from the top of this page. Works perfect.

Maybe it's because your pic is a .jpg and this one is a .gif ? Jim ???

Don't give up, Jack. There may be hope for a bright computer future for you !

Hi,

The problem of the red crosses has two explanations:
- bad URL
or is what's hapenning a lot is that the server where the picture is, do not allow direct links to the pictures LYCOS and MSN are some of them.

Jim has explain that on one other thread about the introduction of pics on the posts.

Arthur really well painted flesh. Nice work.
