Yes, for things that you need to really bend into circular shapes (ex. machine gun barrels, muffler covers, etc.) it really helps to anneal the piece first.
Only takes a few seconds over a candle flame or lighter. Hold with tweezers or hemostat.
Let it cool and then bend away.
