Is it insane or wrong of me to want to take a kit that I my only own once in my lifetime and want to modify/sci fi the cr@p out of it ? The kit in question is Alanger's T-35 whch is pretty bada$$ in and of itself, but at the same time I can hear it saying to me "come play with me, go crazy!"

Totally and unquestionably barking!!

Its your kit ... do with it what you want. Who do you model for ... yourself or others? It wont be the first military subject converted to a sci-fi model ... go for it!!

Go crazy. Make it unique. Put a plasma cannon on it. This brings to mind "Resistance, Fall of Man".

Considering the shapes of the original tank, it could be an OUTSTANDING "Steampunk" vehicle... You would be insane if you didn't

So please, share your project with us!

There are a UFO campaign and a Sci-Fi campaign both forming in ModelGeek-- I'm guessing they'll combine before either is a go, so you could enter there.
More likely, there's a Steam Punk 2012 campaign forming that hasn't been submitted or posted yet there too.
Hopefully you can gather your references, ideas, and pieces and check back in a month.

Thanks fellas. I do model for myself. I guess the reason I had to ask was that this isn't a Dragon or Tamiya kit that I can just go the LHS and grab off the shelf.
@ Sean, I know that there is talk of steampunk 2012 campaign and believe I am all over it.

@ Mauro, thanks for the pics and yes I am going steampunk.

Now I just have to get creative (not easy for me ) and figure out the mechanics so that at the end of the day I don't just have a T-35 with stuff glued to it. I will keep you all posted.

BTW...it's just you, no one else here would ever desecrate a good kit of any kind to evolve it into something sci-fi...especially a steam tank!!!

..of course, I could be wrong!...........
