Goose, this is what I have:
How to Build Dioramas
by Sheperd Paine (Paperback - December 1999)
Modeling Tanks and Military Vehicles
by Sheperd Paine, et al (Paperback - September 1982)
Building and Painting Scale Figures (Scale Modeling Handbook, No 13)
by Sheperd Paine, et al
and I know there is another one:
How to Photograph Scale Models
by Shep Paine, et al
Try on Amazon... they have good prices for used books.

There is a 2nd edition of [b]How to Build Dioramas Aircraft, Armor, ship and figures models{/b]
Copywrite 2000
I've read both editions. Both are very good. I personally like the depth of coverage and the subjects coverd in the 2nd edition.

I Feel Shep Paine's books are the best ... in depth coverage, very good additional photography, full colour ....yeah my kind of books.

i bought some days ago 4 manuals of Osprey concerning military vehicles modelling (basic , intermidiate, advanced , and softskins) and...what a dissapointment!!!! The worst books i ve ever seen. Text hard to follow, thrown here and there, good photos but not specified techniques, mostly blah blah talk and description of certain models 8-10 in each book .i dont think i ll ever use m. i even dont know why i paid them...or i know, cause i didn't ask my fellow modellers in here. Any way i fill up my shelve in the book case.i believe most of you will have the same opinion, that a model book npo matter how difficult tehcniques describes it must do it in simple words and steps..Anyway if anyone has a comment on it i ll be happy to listen to.
