Do any of you know how and what program to use to draw up plans and reduce them to 1:35 scale? It would be nice if it was a free download too, I have to pay for college and car insurance so I dont have any money to buy anything. Hmmm, second year of college and I hardly can pay for it......or anything for that matter .

Any CAD program will do. You can get a free Learners Edition of Turbo Cad at their website. Just do a google for TurboCad LE. It has a tool to change the scale of the drawing.

Heya Matrix,

try a program called Ansys. It's an engineering tool with a CAD like layout, and is easier to draw up plans on because you just type in keypoints and join them using lines/arc etc etc. and it gives great 3-D modelling possibilites with a little effort. Your university Engineering Dept. should have this available to students for free

Good luck,

Cokes.

Call me stupid, but I use Microsoft Visio for this .... it's very easy to learn and this is something that can't be said about some CAD programs.

another two modeling cents in the hat

Danny, how am I supposed to call you stupid when you keep knowing more than me :-)

I found a 3D modelling tool from PTC that is free. It is a fully functioning modelling and animation tool with the latest modelling software and it's totally free. Read about it here:

the link to ptc is at the bottom of the page.
