I'll be going to Singapore in about a month and was wondering what brands/items I should be on the lookout for to get more cheaply than I could get here in the States. I build both modern aircraft and armor, if that helps. Does anyone know?

Well Lucas.... you should ask a Singaporean-Me. Give me a list of the stuff you're looking for and I'll check the prices here.
BTW,do you know your way around here?

Nick--thanks for the reply! Much appreciated. At this point I don't have a fixed shopping list. There's a few kits I'm interested in, like the Academy M1151 and the HobbyBoss 1/72 F-14A, but I'm also open to a wide range of other options, especially if the price is right. For example, if the Bushmaster kit is available in Singapore for a good price, I'd love to get it.

I'll look into it Lucas, Bryan's links are the regular shops.
Bryan thanks for the links..I haven't been to them in a while.
Is Nakamoto's place at Selegie is around?

Nakamoto's shop closed a couple of years back. I think he's now into aquatic plants.
Some of his regulars started a part time store/workshop/hangout called Hobby Kulture. I go there for supplies as they don't have much kits.
Min. Hobby is still the main player in the local scene. They've been having a 40% discount off price tag promotion ever since moving out of town.

Don't forget the one at Tiong Bahru Plaza (5th floor), Hobby Focus, accessible through Tiong Bahru MRT. Their prices may not be the lowest, but for range they are quite unbeatable. What you cannot find at other places, you might get it there. They cover a sizeable range of autos / aircraft and warships. Armor are not lacking either.
Cheers.

When I was there in 2009 I was amazed at the prices for AFV-Club kits. I got the Churchill III for less than half of what I would pay in Switzerland. AFV have lots of modern stuff too. So there's a thought maybe?
Cheers!

Are the shops listed by Bryan good for figures too?
